Background

I’m a data scientist and mathematician with experiences in statistical modeling, analytics, Teaching, and predictive modeling. I have a deep understanding of data analytics with high statistical programming proficiency and Experience. I possess varied background skills, with an enthusiasm for continuous learning providing a uniquely diverse skill set .
I am always striving for balance I love abstract and conceptual thinking and am always trying to learn something new .

I initially got into data science/Statistics as a way to bridge my way to Actuarial Science . However things turned out different after realizing there is more to life. Today, I spend most of my time glued to everything data , either for money or for pleasure. On any given day, you’ll likely find me working with the RStudio IDE, git automation, Quarto, Databricks, tidymodels and Tidyverse. I am against the vs wars and love embracing the capabilities of both languages for my work.

My daily languages include , and SQL . My preferred language is as I can use it for a wide range of work including data wrangling , data visualization, model development, communication with databases and data lakes and even website development (this site was built with + Quarto).

Learning more about statistics and data science; particularly its applications in R. I am more and more becoming interested in survival analysis as well as Bayesian approaches.

Coding: I will likely never code as neatly as an engineer or computer scientist but I try to incorporate software engineering best practices as I can–I am very keen to become more proficient with workflows in airflow, deploying APIs to AWS, and taking on more data engineering as practicable.

Teaching: I love teaching , love sharing knowledge in mathematics and statistics.
Music: I love music , I love acappella music and a bit of gospel rap!

There are a plethora of online and in-person data science communities to learn from and share your own experiences. Online communities for open-source languages and data science are incredibly welcoming and below are my favorites:

  • Data Science Hangout
  • R-Ladies Global
